Mi 9 gets MIUI 12.5 and Android 11

Finally, MIUI 12.5 EU ROM (about MIUI versions and version code in this article I wrote) and Android 11 with the June 2021 security pack for the Xiaomi Mi 9.

The Wed 9, the only downside to Xiaomi's top 2 year old phone with Snapdragon 855 is battery life. Unfortunately, the 3350 mAh battery, which is not very large anyway, degrades quickly, but replacing it is not too bad, provided you can find a genuine part. Other than that, it's still a great device, both in terms of performance and camera.

I've been using the phone for almost a year now, very heavily, and I have to say that it's still worth its second-hand price, which is around 60-70 thousand forints.

According to link below to download the update, but owners will also receive it via OTA within days. After the update, the gesture control has been reverted back to a plain button variant. The menu item for this has been moved to a different location, but it didn't catch me out. That's it for now, the system works fine for me, I hope it stays that way.

Fun fact: Mi 9 SE is the little brother of Mi 9 received MIUI 12.5 earlierThe reason for this is a mystery. :D
