Xiaomi's Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE, launched at the beginning of 2019 (20 February), will be available for the global market in early spring. The smaller of the first triple-camera duo, the Mi 9 SE has become a firm favourite in our country with its compact size. The Mi 9 features premium materials and the most powerful hardware available. The Mi 9 also comes with wireless charging.
The duo was joined by the Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro in summer 2019, and the Mi 9 Lite arrived in autumn. The Mi 9 Pro 5G is also expected to launch in 2019.

1st Wed 9

It has a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 855 flagship processor, a Sony 48 MP triple camera and a 3,300 mAh battery that can be charged with a wireless (Qi) charger. The AMOLED display used has high brightness with an infinite viewing angle. The fingerprint scanner integrated in the AMOLED display is an additional (biometric) security alternative to face unlocking to protect your data. For more accurate navigation, you can use dual-band GPS and NFC for touch payments. At home, you can control the TV or air conditioning with the built-in infra port. Our 9 is fully suitable for business use, even internationally.

2nd Wed 9 SE

The Mi 9 SE has a more compact physical size, so it's highly recommended for those who want a true premium all-rounder in a smaller size with few compromises.
With the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 712 processor, you can run multiple applications in parallel without lag. Capture photos and videos with the same professional quality as the Mi 9. There's an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, infraport. The display is only smaller in size, but otherwise identical to its big brother. However, it does not have Qi charging, which means that you can only charge its battery, which is reduced in proportion to its size, with a cable.

3. Mi 9T

The launch of the Mi 9T has started interestingly, but we have seen and will see examples of this in several models.
Launched in China as the Redmi K20, the series is the second model (family), alongside the Mi MIX, to banish the island of sensors and front-facing camera from the milky display area.
The first to debut from Xiaomi's workshop was the pop-up camera solution, which only reveals the 20MP selfie camera that pops up from the case when you really need it. The design is secure and durable. So the face unlock is not usable, but instead there's an in-display fingerprint scanner with a larger surface area and a more accurate/faster sensor than the Mi 9 or Mi 9 SE.
With the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 730 processor, you can run multiple applications in parallel without lag. With Sony's 48-inch triple AI camera, photo and video quality is about the same as the SE.
The battery has a capacity of 4000mAh for up to 2 days, which can be charged with 18W support via wired charging only. The full AMOLED display has HDR support, and both the Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro have a 3.5mm jack connection, so you can enjoy content consumption (e.g. watching a movie) with good picture quality and sound quality.

4. Mi 9T Pro

The Mi 9T Pro has almost all the extras that the Mi 9T lacks. The Mi 9's processor has been complemented with multi-layer graphics heat dissipation, so you won't sweat when running massive games, but you'll still get consistent performance. Sony's triple AI camera brings it up to Mi 9's level, and in video it brings it at 4K 60fps.The battery, also 4000mAh, is now capable of 27W fast charging, so it can be fully charged in 2 hours.
Qi wireless charging is not supported on this model either.
The Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro are a liveable and perfectly usable all-in-one high-end series, designed for a slightly different target audience than the first two models. They offer longer battery life, but are noticeably heavier and thicker, and the display is protected with Gorilla Glass 5 compared to the 6th generation used on the Mi 9. We recommend it for young people and users who are looking for raw power, a truly full display and an almost premium camera, and don't plan on 4-5 years with this model.

5. Mi 9 Lite

Finally a real Lite model. The Mi 9 Lite looks exactly like the Mi 9, and the display itself is identical (only the protection is G.G. 5).
The Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 710 processor is more than enough for average use, with only the more demanding games taking their toll. The main rear camera sensor is again a 48MP Sony, with two additional units. In terms of battery, we have 4030mAh (with 18W fast charging support), which considering the frugal hardware, should last the longest of the Mi 9 family.
Here you also get NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, infrared, 3.5mm jack and a great GPS that can use Galileo satellites. If you like the Mi 9 more than the Mi 9T, you can't go wrong with the Mi 9T, as it really is a great model for the price. There's not much to complain about, except maybe the special blue back paint job, which can be divisive.

You can only expand the storage on the Mi 9 Lite, the other versions will have to make do with the factory size.

For each model, you can find our test videos and test articles in the testimonials section below the summary.
