Just 4 days ago I wrote the my previous article, in which I detailed the latest rumours about the Xiaomi 12, there are already new developments have arrived.
The Snapdragon 888 was unveiled at Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020, with its successor arriving at this year's event starting on 30 November. Last year, Xiaomi was one of the first to announce a phone powered by 888 (less than a month away), and is expected to do the same this year.
The device is expected to be the first Snapdragon 898 phone, as we've already reported, and will be released before the end of the year. According to my favourite leaker Digital Chat Station, the vanilla codenamed model will support 100W fast charging. So this isn't the 120W charging we've seen before, however, this device is likely to be the "regular" Xiaomi 12.
This model lacks a periscope lens and a high-quality ultra-wide-angle camera, but will have an improved main camera. This is based on a 50 MP sensor, which is interesting after last year's 108 MP sensor.
The phone will feature a high-capacity battery, although capacity figures have not yet been released, but it is expected to boast a slim design nonetheless. It will almost certainly have a high screen-to-body ratio and a smaller selfie camera with a smaller hole.
As for the Xiaomi 12 Pro model, Digital Chat Station previously talked about a triple 50 MP camera (wide, ultra-wide and full), but that was back in August, so we don't know if plans have changed since then.
