Have you ever encountered a problem where your PC refused to connect to your phone via USB cable? It could be old Windows, or the drivers don't fit, the cable is damaged, or worst of all, the phone socket is damaged. This is when the built-in File Manager FTP server feature comes in handy. If your phone and your computer are on the same Wi-Fi router and network, you can turn your phone into an FTP server and, for example. Total Commander or other FTP client software to connect and access the entire internal storage of your phone!

  • Open the File Manager application
  • Select the Categories tab from the top menu
  • Tap on the green FTP icon
  • To configure the server, tap the Setup button below

FTP szerver beállítása Android alatt

  • Keep the screen awake: do not turn off the phone screen while the FTP server is running
  • Transmission encoding: decoding of file character set between server and client, set to UTF-8, this is best for us, as we are not using Chinese
  • Secure FTP transfer: you can specify the FTP port, most servers use the standard port 21, our phone defaults to 2121, keep it that way. By enabling anonymous FTP in the client, set up an Anonymous connection where you only need to set an email address. If you are at home, leave it as it is. If you are on an open or other network, turn this on and under the User name and password menu, enter a User name and a password that the client can use to connect to your phone.

Go back and click on the Start Server button. To stop the server, just click Stop Server.

Sometimes it's a better way to access files because it's faster than some USB connections and if you have a lot of files, you can access them faster.
