Facebook recently issued a statement to show that the platform is effective in combating hate speech on the site. 

In recent weeks, the internet has been abuzz with a series of scandals at Facebook. As it turned out, the trigger was a former product manager and data engineer at the company, Frances Haugen, who leaked internal information about the The Wall Street Journalwhich made it clear that Facebook is aware of the harmful effects of Instagram on young people under its umbrella.

In the wake of the leaks scandal, a Senate investigation into Facebook was launched, in which the leaker herself, Frances Haugen, took part and made serious accusations against the company, including that Facebook cares more about money than society and that it is not doing enough to combat hate speech. Of course, the head of the company, Mark Zuckerberg, is not could have left without a word events, and in the meantime, Facebook has also introduced a series of measures announcedto show that they are doing something for teenagers' mental health and to combat the spread of hate speech.

To back this up, a recent Communication from by the company's Vice President of Integrity, Guy Rosen, in which he explains that over the past three quarters, there has been about 50 percent less hateful content on the site, so essentially the accusations against the company in their current form are no longer valid. Rosen says it's important that people draw conclusions based on the number of hits generated by such posts, rather than the amount of content deleted. Measurements show that currently 0.005% of internet users view problematic posts, so in practice only 5 out of 10,000 people are exposed to this content.
