True, this launch was not planned, but one of the problems - the lack of a Chinese rom Play store - is being addressed by many, as most phones that don't come as Global versions yet all come with Chinese stable roms. This is certainly the case no Play store and we can use our favourite apps in Chinese at most, if they're on the App Store.
The other is the introduction of full-screen gesture control with the proliferation of full-screen phones. The three physical buttons have been replaced by virtual buttons. There is no longer enough space under the screen for the buttons to fit and so they have been relegated to the screen. But it also obscures the full screen and that's why it was invented, to trigger basic button actions with specific gestures on the screen with your finger.
