Android 11 coming soon to the Mi 9T

Android 12 is almost here, but some are still waiting for 11. Mi 9T owners are one of them, but if all goes well, they won't have to wait much longer. Mi Pilots can already test the Android 11 system update.

Why is Android 11 good?

Android 11 brings greater security, optimizations and new features, such as chat heads in chat apps and a media control centre in the notification panel.

Does it come with MIUI 12.5?

MIUI 12.5 update is not yet available, but is expected to arrive in the near future. Don't expect it just yet, though, it'll take a few weeks to get the new interface in Global rum after the Chinese version is released.

The update is called V12.1.2.0.RFJMIXM and is a stable beta, which means that if no bugs are found, it should be available to everyone soon.

The situation is not very rosy

Xiaomi's software update in recent years, especially in the Global and EEA region, is not ideal. Fed up with this, a petition was launched to Xiaomi to change this situation. If you're interested and would like to sign, you can read more about it here.
