The first time we met Volcano API  was when the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite was launched. Vulkan aims at high performance real-time 3D graphics apps such as video games and interactive media on all platforms. Compared it to OpenGL and Direct3D 11 as well as Direct3D 12 and Metal technology, Vulkan provides higher performance and more well-balanced CPU/GPU use.

Yesterday Xiaomi officially announced that its 12 models already support the Vulkan version of  'Honor of Kings', which was officially launched a couple of days ago representing the further deepening collaboration between 'Honor of Kings' and Qualcomm Snapdragon series.

Based on the deep technical optimization of Qualcomm and 'Honor of Kings' , game developers and gamers can take a full advantage of Qualcomm Adreno GPU on the mobile platform to achieve more efficient graphics rendering and lower power consumption. What's more, developers can design more impressive game graphics and gamers can get a more stable and smoother FPS experience.

For example, in case of some models, the overall CPU load of the Vulkan version of 'Honor of Kings' is reduced by up to 30% compared to the multi-core, multi-threaded version. The energy efficiency ratio is also higher (even at high frame rate HD display effects).

The following models support the Vulkan version of the game: Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, Mi Explorer Edition, Mi 8 Pro, Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, Mi MIX 2S, Mi MIX 2, Mi 6, Mi Note 3, Mi 6X, and Redmi Note 5.
