Wang Xiang, one of the "most prominent" Chinese managers

Wang Xiang, a Xiaomi Group partner and chairman, was listed as one of the "Most Outstanding" Chinese managers in the "2022 Forbes China - Global 100 Outstanding Chinese", published on 13 September.

Wang Xiang, 61, is a partner and President of the Xiaomi Group. He assists the CEO in the Group's operations.

He joined the Group in July 2015 as Vice President of the Group and Chairman of the International Department. He is responsible for global business development, intellectual property (IP) strategy and strategic partnership management. Since joining the Group, Wang Xiang has led the team and entered more than 100 countries and regions with his outstanding leadership and strong management background; meanwhile, he has continuously improved Xiaomi's global IP strategy and compliance system, removed IP barriers and promoted the Group's globalization.

Wang Xiang served as vice president and president of Greater China for Qualcomm Inc., where he was responsible for their business operations in the region, including chipset sales and customer service in China. Prior to working with Qualcomm, he focused on sales and marketing and held senior management positions at several leading companies, including Motorola Inc, Lucent Technologies, Inc. and Agere Systems Inc.

According to Forbes China, Wang Xiang is one of Xiaomi's top executives and is responsible for the extremely rapid growth Xiaomi has seen in the consumer electronics and smart devices markets in recent years. Under his leadership, Xiaomi has established a foothold in more than 100 countries. While continuously improving Xiaomi's global intellectual property strategies and compliance, Wang Xiang has removed barriers to patent ownership and contributed greatly to the company's international expansion.

The Forbes China 2022 "Global 100 Outstanding Chinese" features outstanding young talents and entrepreneurs from outside China. The list names 100 outstanding Chinese personalities who have made a difference in two major fields - business and culture - in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania. The Forbes list has three categories: Business Leaders, Outstanding People and Potential Elites. Wang Xiang is one of the 17 people who have been described as "Outstanding". All of them are talents with influence around the world; some of them are leaders of companies with a market value of more than 100 billion yuan.
