Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service costs $99 (31,000 HUF) a month, but there is a premium plan that is faster and more resilient, but five times more expensive than the standard package.

Last time you we wrote about Starlink, when it turned out that the satellite receivers were also favoured by cats, at least as a photo that started circulating online in early January suggested.

Elon Musk, the world's richest man, started building the Starlink satellite network in November 2019 to bring broadband internet to almost every corner of the planet, even where it was not possible before, for geographical reasons.

The company has recently Retrieved from with a premium package that gives you a noticeable speed boost, is more weather resistant and costs several times more than the basic package. In this plan, subscribers have to pay $500 a month, on top of which they pay a one-off fee for an antenna to connect to satellites orbiting the Earth. This costs USD 2500, or HUF 785 000.

In return, subscribers will get a download speed of between 150 and 500 Mbps with the same response time, instead of the 50 to 250 Mbps speed and 20 to 40 milliseconds delay that comes with the standard service. In the premium package, the download speed is doubled and the upload speed is doubled to roughly 20 and 40 Mbps, compared to 10 and 20 Mbps for the basic package.

Starlink also promises to provide premium customers with 24-hour customer service, seven days a week.
