Redmi K50 with Snapdragon 870... or not the K50?

After Redmi's split from Xiaomi, they also ventured into the world of high-end phones with the Redmi K series. This tasting went so well that they have now become regular consumers and after the Redmi K20, K30 and K40 series, the Redmi K50 series is on the horizon.

If these types are not familiar, it's no wonder, because surprisingly, in Europe not with these names have reached:

Redmi K20 = Mi 9T
Redmi K40 = Poco F3

Now, back to the Redmi K50. One of my favourite leakers, Digital Chat Staion has dropped the wire, where else but Weibon. He also posted two posts that are presumably about the Redmi K50... or are they?

The processor is a Snapdragon 870, which is interesting in that it's the same as the one in the Redmi K40. On the front, there will be a 120 Hz OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a size of 6.7 inches. The main camera is believed to be 50 MP. The first post ends by saying that the device will be released next year.

In another post, it says that the phone will be IP68 certified, support 100W fast charging and will have stereo speakers on the front.

This sounds more like a flagship, which is why some commentators think that the two devices are not the same. It is also possible that the handset mentioned in the first post will still be part of the K40 series, called K40S or K40 Ultra, and only the second post is about the Redmi K50.
