Redmi 9A - cheap and usable

Amid the war of performance and megapixels, there is little talk of cheaper phones. Redmi is now the brand that once was Xiaomi's price/value champion. Redmi also supplies the cheapest phones, including the A series. But the Redmi 9A is now so brutally cheap that you can't miss it!

The Redmi 9A is a very simple phone, but it has some very good features. The huge 5,000 mAh battery is coupled with very low power consumption. It offers a very long battery life (34 days), but you can't complain about its usefulness:

• Listen to music for 7 days
• 1.5 days to make a phone call
• 19 hours of video
• You can play for 14 hours

The visual experience is enhanced by the huge 6.53″ HD+ display. While it's not FullHD, it's just enough to watch the new video of your favourite influencer or the funny animals in the nest. Its 13 MP main camera isn't for artists, but it's good enough for capturing grandchildren, friends and other important events. The selfie camera with 5 MP resolution is just fine, and you can take a group photo with the palm of your hand.

Connectivity is not lacking either, with 4G capability, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, 3.5 mm headphones. Plus, the sound is excellent, thanks to the built-in subwoofer.

Contra

So far, I've only written good things about the phone, but I have to say something about its drawbacks. The Redmi 9A's processor is not a nuclear reactor. However, the performance of the MediaTek Helio G25 is satisfactory if you're not using it for the latest snippy 3D games and don't want to use 10 apps at once. But! For keeping in touch with family, friends, email, video, Facebook, it's just right. It also lacks the infra remote that you're used to on Redmi phones.

Summary

So the target audience for the Redmi 9A is people who use it as a phone, don't hang out on it all day and don't want to open everything IS. Simple games run on it, you can shoot nice photos with it, you don't need to charge it daily. Great for older age group, best as a second or business/melo phone. But now comes the most shocking fact, the price. The Redmi 9A with 2 GB of memory and 32 GB of storage - expandable up to 256 GB with a dedicated tray - is now only 35.400 Ft in the MiShop.hu webshop!
