Streaming service provider Netflix has a special offer for Kenyan users who visit the site via Android.
Although Netflix, founded in 1997, is the world's most popular streaming service, available in more than 190 countries, the streaming giant is trying to build a global subscriber base and reach as many people as possible. While Netflix is not an expensive service, similar platforms are cheaper in developing countries, so the company is trying to attract more subscribers in certain regions by cutting prices. In 2019 Malaysia, and last year India have come up with cheaper designs, and now they are trying to appeal to the Kenyan public with a special offer.
Netflix on Monday announced, that Kenyan users can use the service without providing their credit card details and without payment if they On Android are viewed through. However, this generous offer comes with a serious caveat: only 25 percent of the full content is available in this format, and the programmes cannot be broadcast on TV. Only users over the age of 18 can take advantage of the special offer and must provide proof of age when registering.
How well this strategy will work for Netflix is questionable, as Kenya is one of the poorest countries in the world, but it is possible that more people will switch to the subscription plan after the free plan.
