MIUI 12.5 update for Redmi Note 8 Pro

A few weeks ago we wrote about the MIUI 12.5 update for the Redmi Note 8, and now the Pro model of the series, the Redmi Note 8 Pro, is on the update list.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro in India received the MIUI 12 update over a year ago, but version 12.5 has only just arrived.

Android 11

Although it's really, really close to Android 12, the phone has just received an Android 11 update. We've written about the robotic system, which was released last year, many times before, so you should expect this:

• better data protection (single permissions e.g. for the camera)
• greater security
• media managers in the notification centre
• bubble chat head solution in chat applications other than Messenger.

Security update

It is crucial to have an up-to-date security patch, which is provided by Google on a month-to-month basis. Unfortunately, in the case of the Note 8 Pro, this is a bit out of date, July release, which is not good, but it could be worse.
