The Xiaomi Mi Note series, which has been on the parking lot for the past 2 years, finally got a new addition in autumn 2019. The launch of the Mi Note 10 was just as much about the Mi Note 2 as it was years ago. In 2017, the Mi Note 3 was slightly overpriced, but rather underpriced in terms of knowledge (it was not even a success in the market, quickly forgotten)
In November 2019, the Chinese version of Xiaomi's CC9 Pro Global gave birth to the Mi Note 10.We've jumped 7 in numbers, but we still don't get the top of the range hardware-wise.
The Mi Note 10 is no longer a standout in terms of size, the 3D curved AMOLED display is not a curiosity, nor is the Snapdragon 730G processor, which is aimed at the upper-mid-range. But the battery size, the premium design and the 5-piece main camera unit with the first 108MP sensor are important factors that make it a real hit on the European market. Staying with the photographic capabilities, we get real specialities:

  • 2 sensors have also received OIS (optical image stabilisation)
  • Mi Note 10 is the first mass-produced smartphone with a 108MP Samsung sensor (ahead of sensor manufacturer Samsung itself)
  • is the second best camera smartphone on the market as measured by DxO Mark (based on mid-November 2019 testing), and beats the gold medal-winning Huawei P30 Pro in video.

Hardware-wise, there's nothing to be ashamed of either, as the Snapdragon 8xx series of a few years ago can be captured by the SD730G processor, which is now "only" upper-mid-range, and is now made with 8nm chip width. Its camera (video) capabilities are somewhat diminished by the fact that this SoC "only lets you shoot 4K at 30fps.
And alongside the huge battery, it also has Xiaomi's most powerful charging to date, with 30W of power. Although wireless charging is left out, we get NFC, infraport, 3.5mm jack connector, as this is the first model to ship with MIUI 11 out of the box.

Mi Note 10 Pro

It's not yet known when it will be available in Hungary (the Mi Note 10 is expected to be available by the end of November), but we do know what will make it a Pro.
As far as we know, it differs from the base Mi Note 10 in two parameters:

  • Compared to the 6GB RAM+128GB storage version of the Mi Note 10, the Pro will have 8+256GB
  • Compared to the 7P (7 elements) lens of the Mi Note 10's main camera, the Pro is now 8P (8 elements, which means better brightness)

The price difference between the two versions is about 30.000 HUF, which means that the Mi Note 10 Pro can cross the 200.000 HUF psychological limit. This pricing brings it up to the Black Shark 2 Pro price level, which is better/stronger in everything except for the camera and battery size (and charging performance).
