The annual Xiaomi Developers Conference (MIDC2019) started this morning in China, where Xiaomi CEO will present this year's results and next year's developments.

One of the surprising announcements of the conference was the release of the Redmi K30, a 5G-capable phone, as before Lu Weibing promised a 2020 release date on his Weibo page, but this Xiaomi CEO refuted today. The Redmi K30 will be released in China later this year, in December. Other than the release date, Jun did not reveal any other parameters or features of the phone.

In addition, the Xiaomi CEO confirmed the 5G plans for 2020 announced at the China Mobile Global Partners conference, which we have already written aboutthat all Xiaomi/Redmi phones above 2.000 Yuan (~86.000 Ft) will be 5G capable.

The Redmi K30 will be the first Redmi phone to support dual 5G systems SA and NSA and the first phone in Xiaomi's range to feature a perforated display with selfie cameras. In addition, the Redmi K30 will be the first to feature the 7 Series 5G-capable Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, which Qualcomm recently announced on its Weibo platform. Previous rumours suggested that MediaTek's 5G Pro was the winner, but there could be two versions of this phone, with the SIM having an MTK Helio M70 5G SoC and the Pro having an SD735 5G SoC. Time will tell...
