The Xiaomi Civi, a smartphone series especially for ladies. Today the third of these beauties, the Xiaomi Civi 2, was released. Not only is it the most beautiful Xiaomi phone in terms of looks, but it also surpasses its peers in terms of features. But there's a downside to everything good, and this is just one of them. Available in China, or in the larger Eastern web shops. It is not available in Europe at the moment.
Design
I've already posted some pictures and videos of the exterior on our Facebook page, it's something amazingly beautiful from a woman's point of view. In addition to the basic black, it comes in beautiful colours like "Thunder Dust", "Ice Blue" and "Little White Dress". In English: black, pink, blue and white.
There's even a Hello Kitty version of the white one, so that the younger generation can enjoy this wonderful phone.
Hardware
Let's look beyond the design and see what this particularly beautiful exterior hides. The Civi 2 has a 6.55″ diameter micro curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels. 10 bit colour depth, 120 Hz refresh, 240 Hz touch sampling, 1920 Hz PWM dimming. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, the panel features a fingerprint sensor at the bottom and a tablet-shaped cutout at the top. The DCI-P3 colour gamut covers 100% and can play HDR content (Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+).
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, paired with LPDDR4x memory, UFS 2.2 storage and a stainless VC liquid cooling system. Android 12-based MIUI 13 is included out of the box.
On the back, there is a triple camera system comprising an OIS-enabled 50 MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 20 MP Sony IMX376K ultra-wide unit and a 2 MP GalaxyCore GC02M1 macro mount.
The main highlight of the smartphone is the front-facing camera system. The "tablet" features a dual 32 MP sensor. The main sensor supports auto-focusing, while the secondary sensor is equipped with a 100° ultra-wide angle lens. These two front-facing cameras are accompanied by four LED auxiliary lights, which can operate at different colour temperatures. Xiaomi has also built a number of camera functions into the software to take advantage of the hardware.
Connectivity features include dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC and USB Type-C. As it is only available in China, the B20 is not available on 4G frequencies, so it cannot be used in the UK. It also has other features such as a stereo speaker supported by Dolby Atmos, linear vibration motor, infrared sensor, 4500 mAh battery and 67 W wired fast charging support.
Prices
The Xiaomi Civi 2 is currently only available in China, so prices in China are as follows:
- 8 GB + 128 GB - 2399 Yuan ~ 141.000 Ft
- 8 GB + 256 GB - 2499 Yuan ~ 147.000 Ft
- 12 GB + 256 GB - 2799 Yuan ~ 164.500 Ft
But the good news is that, according to rumours, the Civi 2 phone, the unlike before, will also appear globally. While this is yet to be confirmed, we'll be back with more details when Xiaomi announces it.
