The automotive, consumer electronics, telecoms and white goods sectors have never been closer together than in 2021. As well as planes, trains and buses, manufacturers have of course not forgotten cars. There are plenty of electronic devices available to make driving more comfortable, fun and safe. Some of the world's biggest tech conglomerates have seen the imagination in these devices and are also developing them intensively. Xiaomi is one of them, as the ever-growing Chinese giant also offers a number of these car products. Let's take a look at some of the more important examples of the gadgets that motorists can choose from.
Cameras
On-board cameras, also known as dashcams, are one of the most important car accessories today. We've recently published a longer piece on them, so we'll just briefly highlight that the choice is now huge, so everyone can find a product to suit their tastes, expectations and capabilities. It's worth choosing a product with high resolution (at least Full HD), high brightness and loop functionality.
But better models, such as the Mi Dash Cam S1, already include extra features such as parking. We recommend everyone to get one of these devices, because it can be a proof in case of an accident or a dubious traffic situation. There are also cameras that can be connected to your phone via an app, so you can watch live images on your mobile or re-watch what you've already recorded.
Vacuum cleaner
No matter how careful you are, cars get dirty over time, but that's easy to do with a compact car vacuum cleaner. The size, suction power, battery and dust tank capacity are the most important factors.
The Xiaomi Mai70, for example, is tiny enough to fit in the smallest space and has enough battery storage for up to half an hour of use. And the 5000 Pa suction power is roughly the same as that of a robot vacuum cleaner.
Headset
It is illegal to use a hand-held phone in a car under the Highway Code, but of course this does not mean that you cannot make calls. That's what headsets designed specifically for making calls, like the Xiaomi Basic, are for. It's worth choosing a device that supports Bluetooth and allows you to connect wirelessly. Replaceable earplugs are important, and it's good to have more of them in the box of your device. It's also important that the product has an integrated control panel that makes it easy to accept or reject incoming calls without having to fiddle with the phone. In our experience, a good headset can be worth its weight in gold when driving, and it doesn't cost much either, so you can get a good, usable machine for as little as a few thousand forints.

And, speaking of phones, it's worth mentioning chargers, which can be very useful. More and more devices support the so-called Qi standard, i.e. wireless charging, and Xiaomi available at have been popping up for some time now.
If you're thinking about this type of product, you'll want to invest in a device that supports up to 20 watts of fast charging, and comes with a cable and cigarette lighter adapter.
Air purifier
Poor air quality is a serious threat to our health and has a negative impact on the well-being of drivers and passengers. But there are already solutionsthat can effectively address this problem. It's worth buying equipment that automatically tests the air quality and switches on automatically when you need it. It is also important that the unit offers multiple operating modes so that users can operate the unit according to their needs. Car air purifiers are out of sight, quiet, non-intrusive, inexpensive and very useful.

It fits in a pocket or backpack, is battery operated and can inflate up to four car tyres. And all of this can make it incredibly useful, something you only realise when you're faced with the fact that your vehicle's tyres have come flat for some reason.
