Although the focus of the latest showcase event is undoubtedly on the Xiaomi 12 family but others were also presented. The presentation was broadcast with Hungarian commentary, so if you missed it, you can watch it here:
The Xiaomi Watch S1 smartwatch and the Xiaomi TWS Earphone 3 earphones are launched. I'll be honest, the watch was one of the things that caught me the most at the launch. The Watch S1 is Xiaomi's most premium watch to date with its stainless steel construction, sapphire glass protected 1.43-inch AMOLED display and support for third-party apps.
It supports more than 117 sports and is 5ATM waterproof. About the different water resistance certifications we wrote here. It has a built-in NFC module for payments, and a microphone and speaker for calls via a paired phone. It also features heart rate and blood oxygen sensors, as well as sleep tracking. It's got built-in GNSS, so you don't need to have your phone with you when you're running, for example. The Watch S1 comes with a 470 mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims will last up to 12 days of mixed use.
The rubber strap version of the new smartwatch is priced in China at 1049 yuan, or roughly 54 thousand forints. The leather strap version is a little more expensive at 1199 yuan, or roughly 61 thousand forints.
The Xiaomi TWS Earphones 3 have ANC, or active noise cancellation, which the manufacturer promises can "cancel out" up to 40 noise cancellations. The earphones have a total of 3 microphones and a mode that directly lets in external noise if the user is talking to someone.
The headphones last for 7 hours on a single charge, with the charger providing an additional 30 hours of battery life. The case can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly. The earphones are dust and water resistant to IP55. The price in China is 449 yuan, approximately 23,000 forints.
As with the Xiaomi 12, we are talking about a Chinese release. Whether and when it will be available globally is not yet known.
