The Redmi “A” series is the cheapest in the family, as it gets the lowest level of almost everything, but still satisfactory hardware. It's almost Android's recommended minimum hardware phone. The Redmi A2, its successor is due for release soon!

A German blog has obtained rendered images of the Redmi A2, which are usually posted on the official site. The pictures show some of the phone's features, but much more has been leaked. Looking at the pictures, there's not much new on the outside, and not much on the inside...

Redmi A2 Specification
The device features a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC with an eight-core CPU based on a 12 nm process. This chip will have a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Users can expand the memory up to 512 GB via microSD.
It is rumoured to have a 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen with 1600 x 720 pixels HD+ resolution. The lack of a rear fingerprint scanner suggests that it will only be available on the A2+ model. On the back of the phone will be an 8 MP primary camera that can capture up to 1080p videos, as well as a 2 MP depth sensor. For taking selfies, the phone will have a 5 MP front-facing camera.
It is also expected to come with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10 W charging in Europe. It will include a single speaker and 3.5mm headphone jack and will launch with the latest Android 13 (Go Edition) update. The phone will offer connectivity options such as dual SIM card slots, Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz WiFi.
It's not just the platforms used that feel like they're from 2018, but also the charging connector. The Redmi A2 is equipped with a micro USB connector. However, it is welcome that the headphone jack has been retained.

The Redmi A2 is rumoured to be available in Europe for 96.99€ ~ 37.520 Ft. The Redmi A1 is currently available in the US for 49.990 Ftit looks like the A2 won't be much more expensive either, as it's 89.99€ ~ 34.800 Ft in Europe.
