The Redmi K range was launched when Redmi split from Xiaomi and decided to try its hand at the high end. This was when the Redmi K20 was launched, and later the Redmi K30 series. Devices from this series made their way to Europe, and thus Hungary, only, surprisingly, under a different name.

The Redmi K40 will be the latest addition to this series, and not only tokens and photos leaked from the device, but have been has been officially announced.

On Weibo, or Facebook in China, you can see what device the post was shared about, and curious users have noticed something interesting about the recent posts by Lu Weibing, Vice President of Xiaomi and CEO of Redmi:

These posts were written on a Redmi K40. The question arises, is it a coincidence? My guess is no, I think they were posted purposefully and on purpose.

And in the second post in the picture, after writing that Redmi will continue to produce products for young people in 2021, he ends with a hashtag: #K40.

Surprisingly little has been revealed about the device so far, but Weibing has revealed a few things. The system chip is a Snapdragon 888, so there will be no shortage of raw power, the display is flat, so not curved, and AMOLED. The battery is 4000 mAh, and, what else he shared, the starting price in China will be 3000 yuan, or about 138 thousand forints.

The phone will be released in February, and will probably debut in Europe under a different name.
