First, let's look at the general options. For example, if your vacuum cleaner didn't have a mop, you can no longer choose one because all new models do. You don't have to use one, but once you try it, you'll probably never neglect it again. So I think that brings this issue to a close.
Among the old vacuum cleaners you can find many non Xiaomi products like Roborock, Viomi, Xiaowa, MiJia, Dreame, etc. I won't count them now because that would be an insane amount of vacuum cleaners, but you can have an idea of what they are.
Replace what with what?
From 2020 - 2021
If I look all the way back to 2020, that year the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop and Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop Pro were brought up. Or if I look further back, it's Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P. The basic vacuum cleaners of the 2020s and 21s this year, in my opinion, are the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E10 you can replace it. The suction power has almost doubled, it has a much better cleaning performance, which can last twice as long. Although we have to dispense with laser reconnaissance and map making, its knowledge and performance make up for it. But if you need the exact and/or multi-level map, then choose the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10 vacuum cleaner. It's a bit more expensive, but it's worth it.
A bigger bite is the comparison of last year's Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner tsunami with the models running now. Back then, Xiaomi was really into Roborock and started releasing vacuum cleaners in higher volumes. To add to the difficulty, these vacuums are very reluctant to break down, except in very exceptional cases. But the devil never sleeps.
From year 2022

Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Lite, Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 vacuum cleaners are also Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E10 can be replaced with a vacuum cleaner. It ticks all of them in terms of suction power, but not in terms of battery capacity. If cleaning time is important, then choose the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10 vacuum cleaner. Since none of the old vacuum cleaners listed above have laser scanning, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10 , progress in every way. From the new generation, only the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum E10 has with this shortcoming, so if you don't need it, leave it alone.

Let's turn the demands up a bit. After the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro+, don't choose the E10 vacuum cleaner, because it is a step back in some of its features. So I think the best choice is Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10. Although this is not better in every respect than e.g. battery capacity, but the price is definitely worth it. But if you still want better in everything, then choose the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10+ robot vacuum cleaner. This ticks all the boxes, so holy!
There are two important differences between Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro and Pro+. One has a larger dust and water tank capacity, while the other has laser navigation. So choosing a successor is quite difficult. Although after both, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10 is a good choice if we want roughly the same . But if you want something better, Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10+ is clearly the best choice.

The Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Ultra was already the top product last year, so only two of the 2023 selection can be considered. If you have the vacuum cleaner alone, without the self-emptying dock, then the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10+. In terms of suction power, battery, navigation and all other features, the two are almost identical. The dust and water tank of the S10+ is a little smaller, but this shortcoming is compensated by its significantly lower price.

Other brands and before 2020
If you have an older, non-Hiaomi brand vacuum cleaner, it might be time to replace it with a fantastic Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner. There are several reasons why. Among them, I would highlight the availability of spare parts and the service background. The features are beyond comparison. Although the Roborock brand still has those outstanding products that still serve cleanliness to this day. A Roborock S7 series is a big competitor to Xiaomi's machines, but they don't have the price advantage of Xiaomi. So almost any of them you replace, you'll be better off with any of the Xiaomi robotic vacuum cleaners. Viomi, Xiaowa is vanishing in our country, like MiJia, which is doing big in China.
If you have a vacuum cleaner older than the generation listed above, you can replace it with almost anything, everything will be better. Although I have a personal comment about this. The Roborock S5 MAX vacuum cleaner, which I took apart last year and always works great! After 1 year, it is not yet certain that it needs to be replaced or renewed for a robot vacuum cleaner, as with telephones. But it never hurts. Since Xiaomi doesn't just throw these out every quarter, they are well-thought-out and durable devices. This is how you first think about whether you need to make another investment or replace the old wear parts for another 1-2 years until they wear out.

I know, replacement or substitution is not always easy. There are a lot of your own preferences that have to be met for such a device. Although less than a phone, it's worth thinking about properly. Don't choose an inferior vacuum cleaner just because it's cheaper. It's cheaper because it doesn't do as much. Today, a robot vacuum cleaner is no longer a newcomer, it is not an investment, but a helper. So make your choice just a little bit better if you are price-sensitive. But if you want to put it crudely, you should always go for the top of the range, don't give up, you'll be disappointed!
However, in terms of price/value ratio, I think the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10+ is the winner, great knowledge and very a good price tag ensures cleanliness in your home. At a minimum, it brings the features of last year's top model, plus it has been improved here and there, which is not a small innovation, but just useful.
