"I always forget that you're still alive" - Elon Musk commented to US Social Democrat Bernie Sanders.

The Democratic Party left Bernie Sanders published a tweet on Saturday calling on the super-rich to pay their fair share. Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, responded to the call with a scathing comment: "I always forget that you're still alive - Musk wrote. He then continued, "Bernie, would you like me to sell more shares? It only takes one word...". At the time of writing, the Democrat politician has not responded to the question.

As a background to this story, Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Tesla, recently launched a Twitter poll asking whether he would sell ten percent of Tesla's shares. "It's been raised a lot lately that unrealised gains are a means of tax avoidance, so I propose to sell 10% of my Tesla shares," Musk wrote on Twitter, adding that whatever the outcome of the vote, he will stick by the result.

It is important to note that the vote was a sham, as the head of Telsa was recently ordered to pay $15 billion in taxes, the CNBC Article from it was inevitable that Musk would divest some of his shares. Since Musk does not receive a salary from Tesla, the only way he can pay the tax bill is to sell his shares.
