An unannounced announcement from Xiaomi was leaked the other day, stating that the Xaiomi Cloud service will be shut down in the US. No exact date is given in the announcement, only two years.
The Xiaomi Cloud your phone numbers, call logs, notes, voice recordings, etc. and of course your photos are backed up from your phone in the cloud. The service comes with 5 GB of storage space by default, which is not that much and for many people fills up quickly. Unfortunately, Xiaomi no longer allocates storage like it used to, so anyone who wants to increase it will have to pay upfront.
Returning to the Communication. As of an unspecified date, Xiaomi Gallery syncing will be stopped in the States. Images that have already been saved to the cloud will still be available for users to save or integrate into Google's service. For this, Xiaomi will provide a workaround to allow juzers to switch cloud services.
Purchased cloud storage subscriptions will also be cancelled and refunded to users. Images and videos stored in the cloud will be available for download until a certain date in 2023, after which they will be deleted.
