Once again, Xiaomi has updated the list of brands for which support has been discontinued. The list includes all brands, Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO, unfortunately a good number of them.

Product Support Policy Overview

We do our best to provide continuous security updates for our smartphones, for Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO brands. Security updates usually include the latest security patches, vulnerability patches and other security improvements. Security updates are generally maintained for at least 2 years after the initial delivery of a device model.
We publish and update our end of life (EOL) product list regularly below to help you check if your smartphone can receive security updates.

*For some models, we may support security upgrades for 3 years or longer, subject to actual terms and conditions. If a very serious vulnerability is discovered, we can provide you with the necessary security patches, even if your device is on the EOL product list.

EOL product list

We will no longer maintain software or firmware updates (including security updates) for products on the EOL product list below, nor can we respond to vulnerability reports.

Xiaomi phones

Compared to the previous report, the list has not grown much and fortunately does not cover the EEA region. But it may foreshadow that support for these phones will soon end in our country and they will not receive any more updates.

  • Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro (LM, MX, RU)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10T (MX, RU)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G (TW)
  • Redmi K30S Ultra (CN)

Interestingly, the Redmi K30S Ultra is on Xiaomi's list, but that doesn't surprise me anymore. The colleague who is expanding this list is either not aware of what to put where, or some automatic system is throwing in names ad hoc. Like the POCO F2 Pro in the Redmi list, or the Redmi Note 10 5G in the POCO list.

Redmi phones

The Redmi list has expanded significantly, although here only one is in the EEA region. The rankings are well shuffled compared to the previous list, so it's hard to work out what has changed. But we managed...

  • Redmi 9T (Global, ID, TR, TW)
  • Redmi Note 8 (Összes)
  • Redmi Note 9 (CN, TW)
  • Redmi Note 9 Pro (TW)
  • Redmi Note 9T (EEA, Global, RU, TR, TW)

POCO phones

POCO is not much new anymore and the EEA region is not affected at all, for those who bought it in Europe. However, the update of the eastern counterparts has been discontinued for one type.

  • POCO M3 (TW, RU, TR, ID)

So now there are only so many phones that have been de-supported, and neither MIUI nor Android security updates will be coming to these phones in the regions specified.
