This is fantastic news for Xiaomi fans! According to the latest report by Research Analytics and Strategy Analytics, the Chinese company has returned to the fifth place in the world's top five smartphone list. The information was shared on Weibo by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun.

The latest figures look very promising for Xiaomi. At the beginning of last month, second-quarter shipments reached 23.16 million units, but that number is down from 23.2 million units reported by Strategy Analytics. And the company's market share has risen to 6.4%, essentially putting it in 5th place in the world!

The same report puts Samsung at the top with 79.5 million sales compared to 77.6 million in the second quarter of 2016. Apple is in second place with 41 million units sold and Huawei is in third place with 38.4 million units. Chinese behemoth OPPO came in fourth and achieved the highest growth, jumping from 18 million units in 2016 to 29.5 million units in the same period this year.

According to a report by Strategy Analytics, worldwide smartphone shipments increased to 360.4 million units, a significant increase from 341.5 million units last year.
