Xiaomi sometimes launches some interesting stuff that doesn't really fit into the portfolio. One of these is the drawing board, which is also available here, I have written about it. But they took it a step further, they turned it into a tool that I don't really understand either. The Xiaomi E-book Note is an e-ink based "normal" tablet.

The new device from the Chinese tech giant features a 10.3-inch E-Ink display. For those unfamiliar, this screen is also known as an electronic paper display, which is designed to resemble paper with good visibility and contrast. The device is also quite thin at just 5.35 mm and weighs 440 grams. It also has 3 GB of memory and 64 GB of internal storage. Under the hood, a 3,000 mAh battery powers the device and supports up to 18 W of fast charging.

The Xiaomi E-book Note supports electromagnetic handwriting, note taking and PDF annotation. Users can capture and draw on the current page while browsing PDF files, using electromagnetic pen technology with 4096 pressure sensitivity levels. The pencil can be magnetically attached to the body to avoid anxiety due to pen loss.

Android 11 Open is equipped with the ability to import personal files via the file manager. It supports epub, txt, pdf, doc, xls, ppt, jpg and other formats, as well as downloadable special format files. It's worth mentioning that Xiaomi E-book Note can open apps in split screen, both in vertical and horizontal screen states, which is convenient for comparing, expanding records and other tasks.

In addition to the tablet, the box contains a case, a USB Type C cable and a pencil with some instructions. The tablet also comes with the WPS Office Suite as standard.
