The Xiaomi 13 Lite is simply a globalised version of the Chinese Xiaomi Civi 2, with a few tweaks. The Civi 2 is not new, it was released in China back in September 2022, which I reported. But now it is available in Hungary, but how lite has it become compared to the series and the Chinese variant?

Xiaomi 13 Lite mindenben lite, vagy megéri?

Xiaomi 13 Lite - Behind the masterpiece

Incredibly lightweight and slim in your pocket - At just 7.23mm thin and 171g, the Xiaomi 13 Lite continues to have one of the thinnest and lightest smartphone designs in the industry. The 6.55″ curved display has a large viewing area and offers a premium and immersive visual experience similar to the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The 3D curved body design provides a comfortable grip, making the smartphone both look and feel slimmer.

Powerful performance, high-end processor

The Xiaomi 13 Lite is equipped with the Snapdragon® 7 Gen 1 mobile platform, the most powerful Snapdragon® 7 series processor ever, with 20% better
GPU performance and 30% higher AI performance. It also features a dedicated Lite-type snow removal solution with improved cooling capacity and extra cooling for dual front-facing cameras. Equally powerful is the large 4500mAh capacity battery and 67W wired turbocharging to get power-hungry users through the busiest days.

From the above paragraphs it is clear (from the manufacturer) that Xiaomi has not targeted women in this country as it has in the motherland. Although the color range is in bright pink, but only blue and black came to the domestic market. And if someone like me follows the entire Xiaomi/Redmi lineup, he knows that the SD 7 Gen 1 is not the most powerful in the family. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo (China) which will be released in India as POCO F5 tomorrow, with SD 7+ Gen 2 proc. Which really is the most powerful in the family. But let's swing past that and see what exactly it can do.

Summary

Its Chinese sibling, the Civi 2, differs from the Xiaomi 13 Lite in one big way. And that's the front-facing camera. While in the East you get two 32 MP image sensors, here we only get one and an 8 MP depth sensor. Therefore, it also has fewer features for selfies, but it still outperforms all Xiaomi phones. Such as:

  • Dynamic framing (0,6x, 0,8x, 1x)
  • Night mode
  • AI beautification
  • HDR
  • Selfie timer
  • Screen softlight
  • Palm Shutter
  • Pocket Cycle
  • EIS Video stabilisation
  • Video teleprompter
  • Vlog mode
  • Ultra wide angle video
  • Selfie portrait video

So for content producers it's damn well worth it, not many phones can do that much. Besides, the screen is one of the best in the world. You can't complain about its performance, but the SD 7 Gen 1 is good for everything.
