The latest press release from the research firm Canalys shows that Xiaomi has outperformed Apple and Samsung worldwide, but is still in second place in the portable devices market.
The research of the market analysis firm, extended to the third quarter of 2023, shows perfectly that Xiaomi could record significant growth. Canalys has included smart bracelets and smart watches, but also basic wearables. Even so, Apple is still the winner in 2023 Q3, but with a significant decline, down 12% year-on-year, with a market share of 17%. In second place, with 12% share, came Xiaomi, up 39% year-on-year. In third place, Huawei is also a big entrant, with a huge year-on-year increase of 45%, but only taking 10% of the total. The biggest negative result came from Samsung, down 21%, which was only good enough for fourth place. Fire Bolt is a very up-and-coming Indian brand, although it's still a long way to go to be feared, but its 53% growth is still worth watching.
