Xiaomi unveils video conferencing speaker

Over the last year or so, students, people working in the online space and many more have had regular meetings. Of course, this isn't a promotional video, and often the simplest camera and microphone will suffice, but Xiaomi thought no, that's all it takes.

At first glance it looks like a simple sound projector, but it's more than that. It's a speaker designed for audio and video conferencing with a built-in camera.

At the heart of the device is an 8-core processor based on Qualcomm APQ8053 14 nm technology. The camera in the centre is 4K quality, supporting up to 120 degrees of viewing angle, and the microphone can transmit clear and intelligible audio from up to 5 metres away. Detailed specifications are not yet available.

The device will be available in China from tomorrow, at a price of 2,000 yuan, roughly 89,000 forints.
