We also recently wrote about the Xiaomi's first independent, stereo BT earpiece, which is very similar in name to Apple's competing earpiece, the AirPods. Physically, however, there were no similarities, the two wireless earbuds are completely different. But the earpiece, which is due for introduction on the FCC's website, does.
Xiaomi vs Apple
The new BT earpiece is now not the name, but the shape is not a bit like Apple's earpiece, only a bit more angular. A bit puzzling... The FCC documents are publicly available and the similarities are great, but they are not the same. The rabbit body is similar to the Airpods, but the in-ear part is not hard and one-size-fits-all, but fits comfortably in your ear with silicone pads.
The Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Headphone also uses a holder and charging box like its predecessor. This provides the device with the power it needs to operate for long periods of time. Thanks to its built-in noise cancelling microphone, it can be used for clear and intelligible conversations or listening to music. With three silicone bells in three different sizes, it's comfortable to wear for almost anyone. The case or charger can be charged via a USB-c connector.
Features and capabilities of the wireless earphones
The battery of the Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Headphone provides up to 3 hours of talk time or music, and the charger can charge the headphones up to three more times. Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity provides low power consumption and good sound quality, and you can control calls or music playback with a touch.
It is expected to be presented in the US on 8 December 2018 at a local event, to give another good crack at the big rival. Price is not yet known, but as we know Xiaomi's pricing will be significantly cheaper compared to Airpods. Maybe half the price...
