Xiaomi has made huge progress in recent times, conquering Europe with its cost-effective solutions and great designs. But development never stops, new phone designs have emerged.

The patents are again LetsgoDigital into visual form. The first design also shows that the newer phones have an even greater emphasis on camera islands. They're separated and prominent on the back of the phone, a bit like the Samsung S21. Although Xiaomi has added four cameras and a huge flash here too, which is reminiscent of high-end phones.

It is planned that the back and camera island would be completely separate pieces, so the classic rectangular back is now a thing of the past. It is not specified exactly which base unit the camera island is part of. But from what is clearly visible, three classic camera units are located underneath each other, with a telephoto lens at the end of the line. And in the top right corner is a cut-out for a separate microphone, which will come in handy when recording video. It might even be a ZOOM microphone.

Another, very different idea has been developed, in which the camera unit is now separated into a whole belly. This layout looks a little like the existing Mi 11 series and also a little like the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Here, the main camera is well separated from the others, and the bottom one is set to look something interesting. There are two smaller, probably auxiliary cameras in the middle and the LED flashes are positioned in the rectangle. Judging by the shape, though, it might as well be a periscope zoom camera.

And last but not least, the back of a more cost-effective phone with fewer cameras. One main camera, two smaller accessories and a small flash strip. This could be the design of a cheaper Redmi back cover. But it's not inconceivable that we're dealing with a Lite version of one of the Mi series. But as long as these are just plans, we can't say amen to any of them, though they promise to be attractive, so it's possible they'll be back this year.

Well that was the new phone design plans from Xiaomi. They're quite attractive, although they do have some similarities to competing or previous models, they're not bad. Which one do you like? Let me know in the comments!
