Omdia (tech. consultant, market researcher) has completed its 2019 survey of smartphone sales. According to the report, Apple's iPhone XR was the best-selling smartphone of 2019, with the highest number of sales worldwide. This represents 46.3 million units. This is a more than double increase compared to 2018 sales. The iPhone 11 came in second with 37 million units sold. A total of 5 Apple smartphones are in the Top 10. In third, fourth and fifth place are Samsung models (3rd Galaxy A10 - 30.3 million, 4th Galaxy A50 - 24.2 million, 4th Galaxy A20 - 19.2 million)

In the second half of the list, in sixth place, is the iPhone 11 Pro Max with 17.6 million units, and in seventh place is the iPhone 8 with 17.4 million. Only the 8th place no Apple and Samsung product is listed, this place a Redmi Note 7 with 16.3 million units.
iPhone 11 Pro ninth (15.5 million), Galaxy J2 Core tenth (15.2 million)

The list reveals that both Apple and Samsung have gained nine places in the top ten of overall smartphone sales in 2019. According to the report, although global sales have declined in recent years, manufacturers need not worry as millions of people are still buying smartphones. The smartphone industry is constantly changing, especially with the rise of 5G, so expect to see products from other manufacturers on this year's list in the 2021 list.
