Monitoring and influencing the humidity in your home is nothing new, and Xiaomi's smart home ecosystem gives you so many options. A sensor that monitors the humidity in the room, a humidifier that keeps it at the right level and of course a dehumidifier that does the same. The new MiJia dehumidifier is coming tomorrow!
These devices are manufactured in China by MiJia, under its own brand and the Xiaomi brand. It will launch its latest humidifier tomorrow, but it's still Community funding. A humidifier would not be a big deal, because we know a few machines at home, but one that humidifies without humidity...
The technology, which is used by Xiaomi and MiJia, is not new either, it's called ultrasonic humidification. In ultrasonic humidifiers, a membrane vibrates at extremely high frequencies, so high that it exceeds the range of human hearing (hence the name ultrasonic humidifiers). The vibrations release microscopic water droplets into the air. Once in the air, the droplets evaporate, adding moisture to the air in the room.
MiJia Fogless Humidifier 3 (1200)
The Mijia humidifier is equipped with a 6 litre water tank that provides 1200 ml of pure humidity per hour, providing quick hydration and drying in 10 minutes. In sleep mode, it supports automatic dark mode, 32 dB noise emission and 350 ml/h humidification volume for long-lasting hydration.
MiJia's new humidifier has also been awarded Zhongjiayuan's maternal and infant certification. It is equipped with a suspended filter element and automatic air drying technology to reduce problems such as mould and odour. It claims to have "UV-C sterilization rate ≥99% and silver ion antibacterial rate ≥99%".
The new humidifier will be available in China from 29 November at a starting price of 999 yuan ~ 48.000 Ft. Only the 2nd generation is available in Hungary, of which three versions are available, which you can read more about here.
