Everyone has probably been waiting for an important call, so they don't mute their mobile phone, even though it can be very distracting at work. And when the phone finally rings, you realise it's not the call, but the service provider or insurance company wanting to take out another contract. The following feature is not only useful for this situation, it can also be useful for mums and dads who always want to call their child but don't want to talk to anyone else.

  1. Put the contacts you want to receive calls from in the favourite section of your contacts list. These contacts will now appear first in the phonebook. (This works in the same way as using Google Contacts, but you need to click on the star button in the top right-hand corner of the contact.)

  2. Within the settings, select Sounds and vibrations. Select the "Do not disturb" mode. (This can of course be done in the same way from the control centre or by adjusting the volume.)

  3. In the "Allow incoming calls" menu, select the "Only from Favourite contacts" option.

Done, from now on, every time you're in Do Not Disturb mode, your favourite contacts will continue to ring.
