Yesterday morning (afternoon in China) the new Xiaomi Mi 5X smartphone was unveiled in Beijing. A huge advertising campaign preceded the launch, with the face of Chinese celebrity Kris Wu trying to drum up interest. Why? Well, based on the specs, you could say it's more like a Mi6A Note or similar, as it looks similar (although the buttons are more Redmi series), rear camera is the same, mid-range SoC, big screen.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves, let's see what we know about the new phone in summary:

The processor
The 5X comes with a Snapdragon 625 SoC, 64-bit, eight-core processor with each core ticking at 1.8MHz. It's weaker than the Helio X20, slightly more powerful than the 650, thanks to 14nm technology, it's quite durable and consumes less power.
The display
With its 5.5-inch diameter, it fits into the Note series, and its capacitive FullHD IPS LCD delivers excellent image quality.
A camera
Dual rear cameras made their debut not so long ago in the Mi6, and the Mi 5X got the same, but with OmniVision sensors instead of Sony/Samsung. One is 12MP wide-angle while the other is 12MP telephoto, just like in the Mi6 phone and switching between the two lenses results in 2x optical zoom. Of course, it also comes with a double flash, just like the big ones. Well, according to some sources and certainly according to the advertisements, this will be the most advantageous feature of the Xiaomi Mi 5X.

Surprising and amusing... Fridi could sing. Yes, many would say that the 3080 mAh is shockingly small. MIUI9to deliver the battery life typical of the Mi Series at this capacity? We'll see. However, the smaller battery, thinner housing, which is why the camera lens sticks out of the housing, and QC 3.0 charges in no minutes...
Standard equipment includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. No word yet on whether it will be available with a bigger storage, because it will be too thin for RAW photos!
The sound
Another outstanding feature of the Xiaomi Mi 5X is its sound. The DHS Audio Calibration Algorithm delivers unprecedented quality, making it the best sounding Xiaomi phone ever. Not only on its own speaker, but also in the earphones, as it has its own amplifier! We will also be curious to see if its microphone will be like the one in the previous Redmi series...

In the Chinese market, that's it. You can already subscribe to the Chinese webshops from 250 - 280$. How much should we expect at home? I'm looking at a price tag of 69.990,- including full cost. Is it worth that much for a mid-range Mi - Redmi - 5X courtesy phone?
