The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is here!

The internet has been abuzz for days about the new Redmi Note family member, but today the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A has finally been revealed!

What we knew in advance is that it comes in 3 colours, silver, pink and gold. The front is white, regardless of the colour of the back.

What's new from the base specification is the battery size, which is "only" 3080 mAh, but let's hope the Snapdragon 435 makes smart use of this small capacity, coupled with the significantly better battery life of MIUI9! I wonder what a 3080 mAh battery is enough for? Tests will come afterwards when the device is available for purchase, but the manufacturer claims 32 hours of talk time, 12 hours of gaming, 15 hours of navigation, 75 hours of music playback and 10 days of standby. Don't let the standby time fool you, that's how long the phone will last if you don't touch it!

You can't complain about its size, it's slimmer than its predecessors. At 7.7mm thick, it's thinner than the Redmi Note 4X (8.5mm), thanks to the smaller battery capacity, but it's slightly longer and wider, but we're only talking millimetres.

Here's the twist, the Redmi Note 5A's camera is the exact opposite of what you're used to, with the front 'selfie' camera having a higher resolution than the rear. Interesting... We already know the front one:

The other great idea is the triple SIM tray, which not only holds your two SIM cards, but also your expandable MicroSD card. The two SIM slots are NANO sized and both cards support 4G networking as follows:
