As every Friday, the weekly updates for MIUI in China have arrived. In the past, everyone was eagerly waiting for this day, because every ROM was based on the Chinese MIUI. But nowadays, it's only the basis for individual ROMs, if there is a global equivalent for the phone. The Android 13 base has been well tested, I've written about it, but now it's finally out for Chinese fans, the weekly release of the Android 13 based MIUI 13 update, in Chinese, has arrived.

Android 13 alapú MIUI 13 frissítés

The first phones to receive the Android 13 based MIUI 13 update are the Xiaomi 12/12 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro and Gaming edition. The latter two are only welcome for Chinese users, the first two are already available for us European users.

Not too much was revealed about the content of the update, but according to the information that appears in the update app:

  • Fixed: Full screen return and swipe gesture bug
  • Fixed: Battery usage time is displayed at 00:00
  • Fixed: Typography on the release surface of the lock screen
  • MIUI developer version based on in-depth customisation of the official Android 13 version released

According to Xiaomi's announcement, in order to provide a relatively better user experience, the Redmi Note11 5G, Redmi Note 9 4G and Xiaomi Mi 12S Pro will be further tested for system stability and test results will be published later.

Due to a major version update of Android, the Redmi K40S will suspend the release of the MIUI developer version based on Android 12 from 23 September 2022. Due to changes in the architecture of the software system, the version number of some models has been changed in the developer version.

Note! From 31 October 2022, the public beta version of the development version will be discontinued for the following models:

  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Extreme Edition
  • Redmi K30S Extreme Edition
  • Redmi Note 9 Pro
  • Redmi Note 9 4G
  • Redmi 10X
  • Redmi 10X Pro
  • Redmi K30 Extreme Edition
  • Redmi Note 9

So the first phones to receive the Android 13 based MIUI 13 update in Europe are the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. Then we'll have global variants based on the Redmi K50, like the Poco F4 GT. As soon as we have more info, we'll be back with details!
