No brand, no phone has software support forever. Some take as much or as little time to maintain not only security updates, but also to maintain their own solutions. Xiaomi provides basic updates for the MIUI interface and Android for 2-3 years, and then expires. Like today, it ended an entire Xiaomi and Redmi series.

Product support

We do our best to provide continuous security updates for our smartphones, for Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO brands. Security updates usually include the latest security patches, vulnerability patches and other security improvements. Security updates are generally maintained for at least 2 years after the initial delivery of a device model.
We regularly publish and update the EOS product list below to help you check if your smartphone can receive security updates.

*For some models, we may support security upgrades for 3 years or longer, subject to actual terms and conditions. If a very serious vulnerability is discovered, we can still provide you with the necessary security patches, even if your device is no longer supported.

Xiaomi has added a series member to its list of phones and withdrawn support in all regions. This is the Xiaomi Mi 10 phone. In addition, only It stopped in China support for the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, but will soon be rolled out to other regions. The Xiaomi Mi 10 also received 2 MIUI 14 updates and Android 13 base.

Redmi phones

The Redmi list has also expanded, with almost the entire Redmi 9 series now out of the pickings. The Redmi 9AT uses the same MIUI version as the Redmi 9A, so that's gone too, although it's not on the list. The Redmi Note 9 and Pro have suffered the same fate in almost all regions.

The halting of updates is almost incomprehensible, as several sources have confirmed that internal tests are underway. The MIUI 14 beta of the Redmi Note 9 reportedly even ran well on the phones. The Redmi Note 9 has remained public on MIUI 13 and Android 12 base. The Redmi 9A/AT hasn't even received MIUI 13 yet, I don't even understand why it hasn't been discontinued yet. The Redmi 9C is even more woeful, Android 10 based left MIUI 12. No pity for them, they were not a powerhouse and were just a pain in the ass.

POCO phones

The POCO list has also been updated, but not with a POCO phone, but with the Redmi Note 10 5G phone. Why it made it here, only Xiaomi would know. If they wanted to put the POCO equivalent here, it would be the POCO M3 Pro. They'll probably fix it... The Redmi Note 10 5G / POCO M3 Pro 5G didn't even get MIUI 14 and Android 13 base.
