Following the recent launch of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max, Xiaomi Malaysia has announced on its official Facebook page that the Redmi Note 9S will be launched on 23 March.

The Redmi Note 9S is expected to be the same device in Malaysia as the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. So, why the new name? We don't know, Xiaomi sometimes likes to overcomplicate things, like they did with the Redmi 5 Plus - Redmi Note 5.

If the rumours are to be believed, the base model will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, familiar from the phones already unveiled, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. The display will be 6.67 inches, the rear cameras will be 48, 8, 5, 2 megapixels and the front camera will be 16 megapixels.

In Malaysia, it will cost 917 Malaysian ringgit, or roughly 65,000 forints, which is a little lower than the Indian price, but while the Indian price is already certain, the Malaysian price is not.

And why do we need to create more and more versions? Good question, but I suggest that they even put "Plus" in the name of the global version, so that it's untraceable anyway.
