Remember the Xiaomi and Meitu sippy-soup phones? Don't you? Then I'll help you, they were the Xiaomi CC9 series, which was introduced in China by Cici Wei, a bit funny to the Hungarian ear. We wrote about this in summer 2019.
The CC9 series did not stay in China, it came to us in the well-established wave of renaming as Xiaomi Mi A3/Pro, Mi 9 Lite, Mi Note 10/Pro. Production of the phone was halted in March last year and since then nothing new has come out of the marriage of the two companies.
The news was revealed by Meitu CEO Wu Xinhong at his annual conference, that Meitu has ended its partnership with Xiaomi and taken back its trademarks and licenses. He also said that Meitu will no longer be involved in the production and sale of mobile phones.
The partnership between the two companies should have resulted not only in phones, but also in other Meitu branded products. With the exception of the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition announced in 2019, the two companies have not developed any other devices.
So that's it...
