Xiaomi 11 Ultra is the first phone to use a super fast charging silicon-oxygen anode battery, which will be the future direction of mobile phone battery technology! The technology is not unknown, it is already used in the automotive industry, but no one has ever managed to do it in such a small size in a mobile phone. Until now.

The energy density of conventional graphite-anode batteries is close to the theoretical limit and it is very difficult and expensive to increase it further. Xiaomi has never stopped looking for alternative solutions, with the first attempt being tried in the Mix Alpha phone, in which nano-scale silicon materials were added through the negative electrode to give ten times the theoretical gram capacity of graphite.

By charging lithium with nano-silicon, it solves two industry problems of previous generation silicon-carbon anode batteries: low charging efficiency and short battery life.

The silicon-oxygen anode technology is a new direction for battery materials in the future. With the development of this new technology, future phone batteries can become faster, thinner, lighter with higher capacity, and this will be the future development direction of the battery market.
