Some specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Band 7 leaked

Exactly one year since the arrival of Xiaomi Mi Band 6, then in Europe with the addition of the word "Smart". The latest Zepp app has debunked the next wearable smartwatch, which is the Xaiomi Mi Band 7. Code names are L66, L66 AP, L66 I, L66 IN, L66 NFC, L66 NFC I, L66 WE, model numbers are M2129B1 and M2130B1.

Fortunately, the Firmware and Resources files contain a lot of information, which MagicalUnicorn has posted on the LOGGER blog. The new Mi Band will include all the features of its predecessor and some new ones.

Xiaomi Mi Band 7 firmware

I may have misspelled the name of the new bracelet in the title, as the firmware also mentions the European name, Xiaomi Smart Band 7. Presumably our favourite bracelet will also drop the "Mi" word like the phones.

The Band 7's screen will be larger than its predecessor, the Band 6's screen size was 152px * 486px and the new bracelet's is 192px * 490px.

The developers also had a little fun and wrote in the firmware code "The most handsome boy in Huami: Mr. Xian". Don't ask...

Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Resources

The Resources file for the bracelets contains the graphics, images, icons and text that I translate. On the screen of the Band 7 KC and MIC, we can read again that the name is now Xiaomi Smart Band 7 and is made by Huami for Xiaomi. Huami is the manufacturer of the Amazfit products.

The Band 7's default and factory-selectable clock faces include a choice of digital and analogue clocks. Of course, like Band 6, there will be much more to choose from online and you'll be able to edit it yourself.

And here's the biggest new feature of Band 7, AOD! Or "Always On Display". Just like AMOLED phones, you can put a digital or analogue clock on the Band 7 screen. So it's already revealed that it will have an AMOLED screen.

Like the previous model, the Band 7 recognises more than 300 emoticons and includes 126 built-in app icons for notifications.

As it's a smart fitness bracelet, it's suitable for monitoring the most well-known and popular sports. It can already monitor and provide data on 332 sports activities!

Xiaomi Mi Band 7 interesting facts from the language files

1. From the language files (7 languages), it was found that one bracelet also contains text for the GPS function. Already for the previous Mi Band bracelets, some sites have been predicting a GPS function, but now it might be included and you won't have to carry your phone for outdoor sports.
2. The "Smart Alarm" feature is no longer in the bracelet series, but is now back. It says: "When enabled, your watch will calculate the optimum time to wake you from a light sleep 30 minutes before the set alarm. This simulates a natural wake-up and prevents you from feeling drowsy after waking from a deep sleep."
3. Password protection hasn't been a virtue of bracelets recently either, going all the way back to bracelet 4. It seems that this is coming back in 7 and you can password protect your data, your bracelet: 'If you forget your password, you can reset your password in the mobile app or reset your bracelet to factory settings. However, resetting the factory settings will erase all data on the bracelet."
4. I've already written about the AOD feature above, but the bracelet text also says: "When selected, the Always On Display will show the appropriate style of the current watch face.
   Once enabled, the screen will display the time when off, which will significantly reduce battery life. Enable?"
5. New in Band 7, battery-saving mode: "When battery-saving mode is enabled, the bracelet only records steps and basic sleep information.
   Press and hold the screen to exit battery saver mode."
6. Finally, an interesting fact about the apps. So far, the previous wristbands were only usable with the Mi Fit app, but the Band 7 might now be usable with the Zepp app: "Add up to 5 cities to Zepp."

Conclusion

The Xiaomi Mi Band 7 (Xiaomi Smart Band 7) will be a little better than its predecessor. Although it doesn't seem to have many new features, there are or will be some goodies. AOD, Smart Wake, Password protection, Battery saver mode, GPS and Zepp usage.

Although we don't know anything about the battery capacity yet, we hope it will be at least as good as the Band 6 and last at least 15 days. Although the AOD, GPS will be brutally drained, but back to a few hours of accurate running measurement may be essential for serious athletes.

In hindsight, the features and functions mentioned above, although included in the Firmware and Resources file, do not mean that 100% will be included. Let's wait for the official announcement!
