The extended warranty, extra warranty, extra guarantee, or as other companies call it, the repair option beyond the factory warranty, or extra service for breakage, soaking, theft, etc. Xiaomi has also launched its own solution, which is currently only fully available in China.




Although it is already available in Hungary, you can only claim it on appliances purchased from official resellers, which you can read more about here. But in China, you can get much more than that with MiCare.

Contents of the MiCare service:

  1. Repair a broken screen twice in two years
  2. Warranty extended for 1 year with free repair during this period
  3. Offsetting new and old phones + replacement allowance within 1 year

In addition, if you use the MiCare warranty service when you buy a phone, you can use 1.5 times the purchase value of the phone when you buy it again, if you use the recycling service.

Example

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra 8/256 GB is available on mi.com for 5,599 Yuan (~257,260 Ft) plus the following service:

  • Accidental broken screen/damage - 349 Yuan (~16.035 Ft)
  • Broken screen warranty: accidental broken screen - 249 Yuan (~11.440 Ft)
  • MiCare Warranty: 2 broken screens in 2 years, 1 year extended warranty, 1 year renewal - 899 Yuan (~$41,305)
  • Extended warranty: + 1 year warranty, free maintenance - 159 Yuan (~7,305 Ft)

The MiCare service is available for purchase at any Mi Store, Mi Home, Xiaomi Mall offline and online stores in China for Mi 10 and Mi 10 Ultra phones only. The list of supported devices may change in the future, and the service's availability outside China is unknown.
