Image cropping functionality coming to MIUI

On 19 May were presented the global version of MIUI 12, which brings a lot of News from will bring to users. Of course, MIUI development hasn't stopped, with beta versions arriving every week.

An XDA user named duckkrz has spotted an image cropping feature in the latest 20.5.26 release, May 26, that looks very similar to the same app in Huawei's EMUI.

As you can see in the video, the function is reached by long pressing the home button, which can be toggled between hotkeys. Myself and many users who use gesture controls also have the option to make use of the image editor, as it can be brought up with a 3 finger tap and then holding the fingers on the screen. When the feature is activated, the screen fades out and 3 options appear in the top right corner. The first is a sliding selection, the second is a rectangular selection and the third is a circular selection. Once selected, 4 options appear: re-select if the user is not satisfied with the result, share, edit and save.

The feature will most likely be available to all devices running MIUI 12 in a future update.
