Sony's image sensors are always a good choice, but it's a recording camera, not an advanced phone camera, so don't expect fantastic quality. But it's perfect for what it's designed for. During the day everything is crystal clear, at night you get perfectly acceptable quality.
Thanks to H.265 compression, the camera can squeeze more detail and better quality into the same file size, but you can still expect 160 MB of files per minute.
The Sony IMX335 uses the full resolution of the camera, although it can't shoot in 4K, but at 2.7K, 1944P maximum pixel count, it can capture more detailed, larger and more beautiful images than its FHD counterparts. But be aware that it can record video at its highest resolution in 4:3 aspect ratio, so if you want 16:9, downshift the resolution.
What I couldn't try was the Defog feature. As the current weather conditions did not allow it, testing the algorithm to remove fog, smoke, snow, etc. was not possible.
And the other, which is a separate product but a useful addition to the camera, is the GPS module. Thanks to this, the camera can be equipped with lane keeping monitoring and accurate lane tracking. The device signals when the vehicle is about to leave the lane slowly, so that the steering wheel is pulled to one side due to inattention, thus avoiding a collision, saving property damage and human lives. Another useful feature is that on multi-lane roads and motorways, it monitors whether you are in the right lane and warns you if you are not.
What I finally got to try out was voice control. Unfortunately, both the previous S1 version and my current MiJia's rear view mirror are Chinese, so I haven't been able to use this feature yet. As many of you know from the many videos my English is not the best. My pronunciation in even the finest terms is the usual Hungarian English. :mrgreen: But this camera smoothly took all my instructions, even though how I said the instructions, it understood! Big red dot!
