We're about to please a few Xiaomi owners, if they care about the Android base update. In a Chinese forum post last year, they mentioned which devices would get the new Android base when, and now they've updated it for the first quarter of 2019.
In the first three months of 2019, the MIUI China beta will receive Android 9 Pie updates on these phones:
- Redmi Note 5
- Redmi 6 Pro
- Mi 6X
- Redmi S2
The release of Global and stable versions is unknown, but there have been cases where Global has been delayed by 1 week. If this happens, the next stable update will be Android 9 based. Such as:
- Mi 8/SE/EE/Pro/Lite
- Mi Mix 2s
- Mi Mix 3
- Mi Max 3
- Redmi Note 7
Other devices are likely to be stuck with Android 8 Oreo base, scattered throughout.
