The Xiaomi Mi Play was a pretty interesting concept even back then, even at launch there were big question marks in our minds as to what it was. It's neither good nor bad, it's not expensive, but you don't get buffalo hardware for it either, despite what the name suggests.
The Xiaomi Mi Play could be a children's version of the Mi 8 SE. Although the waterdrop camera island was used for the first time in this model, it didn't move the world as the other hardware elements are not as promising as in the 8 series. Most of the parameters wouldn't even be wrong, 5.84″ diameter screen, 1080×2280 FHD+ pixel resolution, 4 GB memory, 64 GB back, 2.4G/5G WiFi,802.11a/b/g/n/ac, 12+2 MP rear camera, 8 MP selfie camera, 3,000 mAh battery.
Which is why almost no one in this country has chosen it, the SoC. Because the Mi Play contains a MediaTek processor, which almost no one chooses anymore, especially since there is an alternative with Qualcomm. The Helio P35 is a 12nm eight-core chipset with a max clock speed of 2.3GHz. Thanks to its dual-turbo CPU/GPU technology, it beats the now-aged Snapdragon 625 in AnTuTu. Wow, what a bitang performance. Especially at the end of 2018. Based on the measurements, the P35 is roughly on par with Qualcomm's 14nm Snapdragon 632 processor, which has an IMG GE8320 GPU with a max clock speed of 680MHz.
The Xiaomi Mi Play entered the European market in Ukraine yesterday, which means that it will soon be available on other official platforms as well, as it has received a Global Rom. But that doesn't mean it will have B20/800 MHz, so far wherever we found it, it's not listed in the specifications.
