The company was founded back in 2017 and its scope of activities includes technology development, industrial automation, automotive, consulting and other technical services.
In a recent interview, Xiaomi President Wang Xiang stated that the company will start with a thorough research and development of the key enabling technology for smart electric cars. In other words, this investment could be very important, as the basic communication chips in vehicles are an important aspect, especially for smart cars.
Deepmotion
Xiaomi is planning to buy Deepmotion, a startup based on autonomous driving technology. The acquisition will be worth US$77.4 million as the company prepares to enter the electric vehicle market.
