There's a long history of increasing phone size, back in 2007 when the first iPhone was released, 3.5 inches was huge.Around 2015 I bought a 5-inch phone, which I thought hard about whether it would be comfortable and fit in my pocket, and now I use a 6.39-inch Mi 9. Of course, the aspect ratio has changed in the meantime, so it's not a fair comparison, but it's still true that over the years, phones have got bigger and bigger. There are those like me who got used to it, and there are those who have missed the compact size phones on the market ever since.

Yesterday, the MIUI 12.5 Global EU version was released for the last mohican for the moment, the Mi 9 SE (about MIUI versions and version code in this article I wrote), and most phones bought in this country have exactly this ROM. Interestingly, the big brother, the original Mi 9, has not yet received such an update. Strange in any case.

The update is not just an MIUI update, but also an Android update, with the Mi 9 SE also getting Android 11 with this update.

The update may not come immediately for all devices, so if you have a Mi 9 SE but haven't received it yet, it's not your device, it will come soon.

For those in the know, here are the recovery ROM link.

I wrote an article about what's new in MIUI 12.5 earlier, you can read here.
